National Chiao Tung University, NCTU (Chuhu)
The Guangfu campus of NTCU covers 62.72 hectares, filled with lush greenery.“Bamboo Lake” , which is the most famous 14 breathtaking scenic spots of the campus and is rated as one of the top 8 tourist attractions of Hsinchu City because of the scenery of "the willows by the lake along with birdsong", "crooked waterway", and"the lake sparkling". Hsinchu Railway Station
Hsinchu station is the only railway station in Taiwan without any signboard. It was completed in 1913, making it the oldest railway station in Taiwan which has been listed as a national historic site. Designed with Baroque style and Gothic style, preserving its historical and artistic values, which has long been a landmark of Hsinchu City and a common memory of Hsinchu people. The Eastern Gate
The ancient ChuChang city wall was built during the Qing Dynasty. It was also the first stone city in northern Taiwan. At that time, four gates were built in the east, west, south, and north, and trenches were excavated to safeguard the city. The base of the city gate tower was made up of stacked granite stones and supported by 24 pillars with double eaves in “XieShan” style. Yingxi Gate, which is now known as the Hsinchu Eastern Gate is the only remaining gate. It is one of the historic sites nearest to Hsinchu Railway Station, which only required a 10 minutes walk. Hsinchu Moat and Riverside Garden
Located on both sides of The Eastern Gate. It is the only remaining moat in Taiwan with 600m length and 56m width from Linsen Road to Zhongyang Road. In the early days, it was a residential sewage drainage ditch, known as "Dongmen Ditch", and has now been transformed into an amenity space, which was planned and designed since 2000. Enjoy the art performances on the small amphitheater while walking on the green trail along the river. Hsinchu Cheng Huang Temple
It was built by the Qianlong Emperor in 1748 and it was the largest temple in Taiwan at that time. It was named “Du Cheng Huang, Wei Ling Gong” in 1891 when it hosted the Disaster Elimination Ceremony and became the only provincial Cheng Huang Temple in Taiwan at that time. It is regarded as the highest-ranking of all Cheng Huang temples in Taiwan by the Guangxu Emperor with a plaque “Jin Men Bao Zhang” due to its superior spiritual power in protecting the town. The magnificent temple featured a large-scale cultural space with three halls, a square layout, and the delicate fine art of its woodcraft. Its architectural design especially the “San Chuan Dian” and the temple’s roof are most distinctive.In front of the temple is a market with a lot of food stalls selling delicious Hsinchu famous rice noodles, meatball soup, and other Taiwanese snacks, including spring roll wraps, minced pork with rice, thick cuttlefish broth, grass jelly drink, winter melon tea, etc. that are well received by tourists.

Glass Museum
Hsinchu is rich in silica sand and natural gas which are perfect for glass making. The glass-making technology has been introduced since the Japanese occupation period, becoming the hub of glass craftsmanship in Taiwan. It was rebuilt in 1999 and it was the first glass museum in Taiwan covering about 18 hectares. In addition toglassworks displays, glass-making workshops are available, bringing you closer to glass creation.
The nearby Confucian Temple, Hsinchu Zoo, and Weekend Flower Market are good places for a casual and comfortable stroll.

17 km Coastline Scenic Area
Hsinchu City is surrounded by mountains and the sea on one side. The 17km long coastline, spanned over Hsinchu’s Nanliao to Nankang. Spanning thousands of hectares, the intertidal zone along the coastline is the largest coastal wetland in northern Taiwan.
